Gloucester Council is divided about the ongoing blockade of AGL's coal seam gas drill site. The Mayor says they are breaking the law and should move on.
It's been over a week since a group of protesters set up a blockade at AGL's drill site for coal seam gas on a public road in Forbesdale Gloucester.
Despite ongoing negotiations with AGL, the protesters will remain until AGL agrees to a fully independent hydrological study.
Meanwhile comments made by the Mayor have those at the blockade hopping mad. Geoff Slack has said the protesters should move immediately or be removed by Police. He also said the protesters do not represent the community and they are not farmers.
Strong words and it seems that within Council opinion is divided.
Katya Quigley spoke to Geoff Slack and Councillor Julie Lyford.
