AGL has come under fire for removing anti coal seam gas signs from outside a property it controversially acquired in the New South Wales Hunter Valley this year.
The Hunter Valley Protection Alliance placed the signs opposite the Poole's Rock Vineyard, near Broke, which used to be owned by outspoken coal seam gas critic, the late David Clarke.
Chair of the Alliance Graeme Gibson says AGL returned the signs last week but the company's actions had already worked to further galvanise the community.
"It's the wrong way to go about it, everything they've done lately has steeled the community against them," he said.
"Buying that iconic Poole's Rock Vineyard from the estate of the late David Clarke really galvanised the community.
