Out of sight, not out of mind

Psychiatrist Dr Steve Robinson talks about the health impacts of mining.

Dr Steve Robinson is a psychiatrist. He's retired now but he's seen the impact that mining is having on some of the locals.

He practised for ten years in Gloucester before retiring there and says this has given him a unique perspective to know what it is like for people living in an area undergoing expansion to its mining operations.

He made a submission at the State Parliamentary Inquiry into Coals Seam Gas in 2011 in relation to the health impacts of mining and says the adverse effects are not just physical.

Wendy Collis spoke to Dr Steve Robinson about what he's observed in Gloucester.
