Dredging high on poll agenda: Gladstone

WHEN Gladstone heads for the polling booths at this month's state election, Gladstone Harbour is sure to loom large in their thoughts.

Gladstone's five candidates have all put their views on the controversy to The Observer and their statements are sure to affect voting in the region.

Along with the rental crisis, the astonishing division within the community over the health of the harbour has become the Labor Government's biggest headache in this region.
Since health problems emerged in barrumundi and other species last year, the government has often been in damage control.

Environment Minister Vicky Darling and Fisheries Minister Craig Wallace have made multiple trips to Gladstone to address the issue.
