Metgasco CEO Peter Henderson responds to concerns of protesters who attended a rally at Casino yesterday.
Metgasco says coal seam gas opponents who staged a protest at Casino yesterday are being fuelled by 'emotional nonsense'.
One of the 200 protesters was Tatham resident Eric van Beurden who claimed Metgasco had failed to answer a list of 25 questions about its plans for the region.
"It's mainly about a total lack of community consultation and information that has resulted in the people of our region getting really scared about what the future holds," Dr van Beurden said.
Dr van Beurden said one of the questions Metgasco had failed to answer was the number of wells it hoped to create in the Richmond Valley.
"They can reckon they can give us the number of jobs they will create and the amount of royalties, so why not the number of wells?" he said.
