Alliance to Fight Coal Seam Gas Mining

Members of the alliance signing the agreement.

ALL anti-coal seam gas groups already existing in the Manning, Gloucester, Great Lakes and Camden Haven region have agreed to join an alliance to present a united front to their fight.

The group to be called the Mid Coast Regional Council of Alliances (MCRCA) will have as its principal aim the opposition of coal seam gas (CSG) mining.

It was formed at a meeting on Saturday hosted by Manning Alliance Inc which will operate in an auspicing role until the new group is formally established.

Community groups represented already include the Barrington-Gloucester-Stroud Preservation Alliance, United Myall Residents Against Gas Extraction, Manning Clean Water Action Group and Camden Haven Anti-Fracking Group, as well as Manning Alliance Inc, however membership of MCRCA will be extended by invitation to other alliances in the region with similar concerns and issues about CSG mining.
