Santos Highlights Rich Royalties from NSW Gas





ENERGY major Santos will campaign for the NSW government to develop the coal-seam gas industry, with its projects forecast to contribute up to $150 million a year in royalty payments to the state's finances.   
In a submission to the state government's inquiry into the future of the industry, obtained by The Australian, Santos says while CSG reserves are small compared to Queensland they will still be lucrative for NSW, despite increased safety and environmental concerns.

It is estimated that more than 90 per cent of the nation's CSG is located underground in Queensland with just 5 per cent in NSW.    Read More
