A group of QLD landholders have locked their gates to mining exploration by Bowen Energy.
Sydney based Geos Mining has been contracted by Bowen to complete the exploration on land that runs between Nanango and Cooyar, northwest of Brisbane.
Landholder Trevor Pincott told the Toowoomba Chronicle mining companies had not been completely upfront in their dealings with landowners.
“The company approaches us one at a time and only tells you the bare minimum of information,” he said.
“You then have to discover the rest of the picture for yourself.”
Pincott said he did not feel comfortable with Government and company assurances about exploration.
