Giving Water a Place in the Mining Debate



Over the last couple of years concerns about water have been at the heart of the local debate about whether or not mining and agriculture can co-exist.
We've heard time and time again farmers talk about the bounty their land has been able to produce because of the important aquifer system beneath their soil.
Now the Independent member for New England, Tony Windsor has moved to add water to the Commonwealth's list of responsibilities by including it as a trigger for the Federal Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Act.    Read More
