THE company that plans to start mining coal on Ipswich's outskirts says it has found even more coal under one of its planned sites.

OGL Resources is in the process of buying the 9202 hectare Bremer View coal project under Mineral Development Licence 172 and the nearby Ebenezer mine.

OGL plans to reactivate Ebenezer (Mining Lease 4712) near Amberley this year as an open cut mine, pending the result of a Supreme Court challenge.

Early this month, the Queensland Times revealed another company, Cuesta Coal, is about to start coal exploration adjacent to the Ebenezer mine.

OGL's managing director Allan Fidock told the Australian Stock Exchange a geological study of the Bremer View project revealed more coal than first thought.
