Walking the walk : Gladstone

LONG MARCH: Protesters from a number of environmental groups marched between the Calliope Crossroads and Gladstone yesterday

IF SOMEBODY walks 540km to make a point, it's a fair bet they feel strongly about it.
That is definitely the case for Potts Driscoll, his dog Bind and friend June Norman. The trio have walked along the Coal Seam Gas pipeline route from Kumbarilla to Gladstone. They were met yesterday at Calliope Crossroads by supporters, who walked with him to the outskirts of Gladstone.

Rather than calling for a stop to the CSG projects, Mr Driscoll said the development was happening too fast and it was time to slow down and make sure everything was being done safely.

Mr Driscoll's Walk for the Future is timed to coincide with UNESCO's arrival in Gladstone today. See tomorrow's Observer for news on that visit.
