A river runs through it: Gloucester



There are those who are firmly opposed to the mining in Gloucester and those who see it as a positive for the economy.

The future of Gloucester is at a crossroads.

There are those who say the environment should be preserved and the focus should be on agriculture and eco-tourism.

On the other side are those who believe the expansion of mining is a good thing for the local economy, bringing jobs and money to a town with an ageing population and an infrastructure backlog.

Ed Robinson lives in Jacks Road and has been there for 15 years. His cattle property looks down on the valley and will potentially be flanked by coal seam gas drilling and open cut coal mining.
