Environmentalists have again halted dredging in Gladstone Harbour in protest at a project they say is degrading the Great Barrier Reef.
The action coincides with the final day of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee monitoring mission to Australia.
The federal government was last year requested by UNESCO's World Heritage Committee to explain why it should be able to maintain World Heritage declaration over the reef while also expanding gas projects there.
UNESCO representatives have been inspecting the area.
Friends of the Earth today claimed to have stopped the dredging at 10.30am.
Spokesman Mark "Potts" Driscoll called for an immediate halt to all dredging activities in Gladstone Harbour.
It and other green groups also want a halt on any further major developments on the reef's coastline until a strategic assessment is done.
"Gladstone locals, fishers, commercial fishers and tourism operators have had enough," Mr Driscoll said.
"This (protest) action supports their calls.
