Small earthquake shakes southern inland Qld

A minor earthquake has rattled Queensland's flood-ravaged Southern Inland near Mitchell, but has caused no damage.

Geoscience Australia reports a magnitude 3.3 earthquake was felt about 50 kilometres south of of the town around 10:00pm (AEST).

The region is still mopping up after record floods earlier this month.

However, authorities say there has been no reports of damage inside the quake's radius of 31 kilometres. Seismologist Hugh Glanville Mr Glanville says it unlikely to be followed up by a bigger event.
