The coal seam gas industry has certainly made its mark here in Southern Queenlsland.
It seems like there's always different research coming out looking at the affects it may have on the environment...
But if the big companies are paying for that research, can you really trust what they say?
Dr Peter Stone is the Director of The Gas Industry Social and Environmental Research Alliance.... it's an independent group formed to better understand the social and environmental challenges and opportunities for the coal seam gas sector.
It was launched in July - so what has the group been doing?
