Newman shares Seeney's reef concerns

Premier Campbell Newman has echoed controversial comments made by his deputy about the Great Barrier Reef, saying it's offensive to suggest Queensland can't be trusted to manage its own environmental affairs.

Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney last week said there was merit in the Gladstone Port Corporation's push to shift the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area boundary to exclude Gladstone Harbour.

Mr Seeney toured several resource facilities in Gladstone on Thursday, where he was asked if he condoned Labor's failure to inform the UN about liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant approvals on Curtis Island.
