UNDERGROUND coal gasification proponent Peter Bond is confident he will be able to build a commercial gas-to-liquid plant within two years if the Queensland government fully approves the process by the end of the year.
Mr Bond yesterday landed the Linc company's corporate jet at Chinchilla in western Queensland after flying across the country on jet fuel that came from gas created at the company's underground gasification operations near Chinchilla, where coal is burned underground to create a gas, then run through several processes to create diesel or jet fuel.

Mr Bond and his pilot, Kane Dubois, left Perth on Monday morning and landed at Adelaide before stopping over in Melbourne on Monday night, Canberra on Tuesday night, and Sydney yesterday, then doing the final leg to Chinchilla yesterday afternoon.
