Dozens attend coal seam gas rally at Warragamba

50 Wollondilly shire residents attended a meeting about coal seam gas mining earlier this month.

MORE than 50 concerned Wollondilly shire residents attended a recent meeting about coal seam gas mining in water catchment areas.

Wollondilly shire group Stop CSG Sydney Water Catchment, held its latest meeting at Warragamba last month.

The group, which was set up to oppose coal seam gas mining in water catchment areas, held the meeting to raise awareness and give residents a chance to air their concerns.

Group spokeswoman Nadene Seisun said she felt Stop CSG Sydney Water Catchment was making real progress.

“This meeting was very successful,” she said. “All who attended were concerned residents, which is a success to us.

“We want all of our members to be concerned about what’s happening and to raise awareness in the community.
