Chevron seals deal with Japanese power companyTohuku for West Australian LNG

US oil giant Chevron has inked a deal to sell more LNG to Japan from its $29 billion Wheatstone project being built off the coast of Western Australia.
The deal, with Tohuku Electric Power Co, will see Chevron supply 1 million tonnes of LNG a year from Wheatstone for 20 years, Chevron Australia managing director Roy Krzywosinski said.

“The market continues to be strong for conventional LNG projects,” Mr Krzywosinski said on the sidelines of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association conference, which kicks off in Adelaide tomorrow.
