Tweed no target for Arrow mines

ARROW Energy has moved to allay fears the Tweed could become the next frontline in the battle against coal seam gas exploration and mining.

The company holds exploration licences over a large portion of the Tweed stretching from Tyalgum to the west and south to Byron Bay.

The move comes after 12 people were arrested last week at a Beaudesert rally to block Arrow Energy workers from conducting exploration.

An Arrow Energy spokeswoman said the company had no plans for the Tweed despite holding the exploration licences.

"The region is not a priority for Arrow and we have no development plans," she said.
