CONSERVATIONIST Drew Hutton is due to face court today on charges of obstructing a coal seam gas (CSG) company during a protest earlier this year.
The president of the Lock the Gate Alliance was arrested in March after joining a blockade against the construction of a CSG pipeline on Queensland's Western Downs.
He will appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court, charged under Section 804 of the Petroleum and Gas Act with obstructing a CSG company without reasonable excuse.
The section guarantees mining and gas companies access to private land and the offence carries a potential $50,000 fine.
The protest was at the Tara Estate, south of Chinchilla.
Greens leader Bob Brown and Katter's Australian Party leader Bob Katter will be in Dalby to support Mr Hutton.
